The log washer is suitable for pre-selecting ores in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgical mines, washing the ores with water to remove impurities such as mud and sand in the raw ore so that the ores meet technological and economic requirements, and is widely used in manganese ore desliming and roughing, especially for granular manganese ores buried in the soil. Its large processing capacity is an ideal equipment for enterprises with high productivity and high requirements for the cleanliness of ores and stones.
The log washer has a good washing effect for ores containing a certain proportion of mud and has been widely used in gold ore, tin ore, tantalum-niobium ore, copper ore, rare earth ore, phosphate ore, iron ore, etc. During desliming operations, it effectively breaks up sticky mud balls and is suitable for processing difficult-to-wash ores that contain less bulk ore and more mud.
The log washing machine is also called a trough scrubbing machine. It has a similar structure to the spiral classifier, but the difference is that the blades are discontinuous paddle shapes. This kind of ore washing machine has strong cutting and scrubbing capabilities and can break up small mud balls. It is suitable for processing medium-sized ore that contains more mud and is difficult to wash. Its advantages are large production capacity and high ore washing efficiency; its disadvantages are that the washing particle size must not exceed 75mm, and the washing water pressure is 147~196kpa (1.5~2kg/㎡).
How Does The Log Washer Work?
The log washer consists of a trough body, left and right spiral blade shafts, transmission devices, etc. The motor drives the two spiral shafts to rotate relative to each other through the reducer and large and small gears, and the blades on the spiral shafts are installed staggered. The material is fed from the bottom of the tank into the middle of the two screw shafts. The mud mass and the mineral particles adhered to the surface are rubbed and scrubbed by the blades and washed with an appropriate amount of high-pressure water from the upper end of the tank so that the mud can be broken up and separated from the mineral particles to achieve the purpose of washing. The washed fine mud is discharged from the overflow port installed at the rear of the tank. The scrubbed ore is transported to the ore discharge port at the front end of the tank through the rotating spiral blade shaft and discharged.
Main Technical Description of Log Washer
- Transmission device
The transmission device of the log washer is mainly composed of a gear cover, gear pair, motor, reducer, etc. - Spiral body
The spiral body of the log washer is mainly composed of tail bearings, blades, spiral shafts, gears, etc. A trough-type ore washing machine requires one left and one right screw. Looking from the right (transmission device) to the left (overflow end), the right screw is installed on the right side of the ore washing machine tank, and the left screw is installed on the left. The two screws have strict relative positions after installation—the left and right crosses at 45°. - Bearing seat
The shaft seat at the lower end of the log washer comprises a bracket, a water inlet joint, a shaft seat, etc. Upper bearing seat part: The bearing seat consists of a bearing cap, bearing hub, round nut, bearing, etc. - Water tank
Steel plates and various types of steel weld the water tank of the trough-type ore washing machine. The water tank contains all the slurry and bears the weight of the device and all loads. - Lubrication device
To improve the lubrication conditions of the log washer and strengthen the lubrication of the bearing seats and screw shafts used to support the spiral shaft, the washing machine adopts centralized lubrication and is equipped with a manual dry oil pump and a control valve, which can regularly provide various. The bearing is pressure-filled with grease, and the lubrication control part can be installed on the left or right wall of the water tank according to the specific operating conditions, or a separate control console can be provided.
Technical Features of Log Washer
- Strong adaptability
The unique structure of the log washer can meet the requirements of cleaning bauxite and washing the clay on the surface of the ore, and the clay will be eliminated with an overflow of -1mm. - High scrubbing intensity
The log washing machine can fully grind the clay mud in the ore that is difficult to wash. For example, during the scrubbing process of nickel laterite ore, it can effectively disperse the mud clumps and discard the gravel, thereby improving the recovery rate of useful minerals. - Good wear resistance
The blades of the log washer have a long service life. The blades of this series of equipment are made of modified medium manganese steel or isothermal quenching low alloy wear-resistant cast steel, which is comparable to the use of ordinary manganese steel. The lifespan is increased by about 75%. - Convenient maintenance
The wearing parts of the log washer, such as screen bars, lining plates, and paddles, are of detachable structure and are easy to operate and maintain. - Technological innovation
The transmission device of the log washer is connected with a soft-start safety coupling, which makes the starting process smooth, reduces the current peak, reduces energy consumption, and can also play the role of overload protection.
The log washer can stir and scrub the ore containing more than 20% mud in the washer to separate the ore and mud. The washed ore is discharged from the discharge port, and the muddy water is discharged from the tailing end. This equipment is often used in conjunction with a cylinder washing machine to process difficult-to-wash ores. It is currently a more effective washing equipment for difficult-to-wash ores. The log washer is mainly used to process placer gold ore with large mud content and strong soil viscosity in placer gold mineral processing. It can also be used with the cylinder washer to process clay placer gold ore that is difficult to wash.
